Glasgow Acting Coach on THE GOAL

What is your goal? What are you focused on as an actor?

Let me tell you what I believe to be true.

Getting the audition is NOT the goal. Getting the job is NOT the goal. Getting through rehearsals is NOT the goal. Getting in the can is NOT the goal.
The goal is captivating, jaw-dropping, truthful acting. Now, that’s a goal worth going after isn’t it?

The goal for the actor is not the get the job, is not to get through the day’s filming, but to become the most truthful performer possible. Not because truth is a given good, but because TRUTH (not dramatic truth), REAL TRUTH is so compelling to watch that we can’t take our eyes from you.

Now wouldn’t that be exciting? To know that every member of the audience is GLUED to you.

Now that’s a goal.
