Full-Time Acting Courses FAQ

Each application is assessed individually, but some prior experience is beneficial. If you’re just starting, consider our 1-Year Foundation course or the 2-Year HND in Acting and Performance.

Yes! Unlike many acting schools in the UK, our auditions are completely free and can be done in person or via Zoom.

Graduates of our Professional Diploma and HND programmes can join Equity, the UK actors' union, and gain membership to Spotlight, the industry’s leading casting platform.

Currently, we do not sponsor student visas. However, students eligible under the UK’s Youth Mobility Scheme may be able to attend.

Our One-Year Intensive Professional Diploma costs £9,000 (in 2025). Payment plans are available. Our Foundation and HND courses may qualify for financial support.

All full-time acting courses are delivered at our drama school in Glasgow, a city known for its vibrant theatre and arts scene.

Classes typically run from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with scheduled term breaks in line with Glasgow City Council.

Yes! Many graduates use our training as a stepping stone to major drama schools in the UK and Europe. Our Foundation Acting Course is specifically tailored to prepare students for 3-year BA acting programmes.

We audition on a rolling basis, but places fill quickly, so we recommend applying early!
Part-Time Acting Classes FAQ

Our professional acting classes in Glasgow are for adults aged 17 and over. There is no upper age limit, and all levels are welcome.

Our STAGES Acting Programme is a structured, professional training course, similar to a part-time drama school curriculum. Everyone starts with Stage 1: Intro to Acting, and progresses through subsequent levels.

While prior acting experience is valuable, our methodology is unique in the UK. We require all students to start at Stage 1. However, if you find the class too easy, we are happy to assess and potentially advance you to a higher stage.

Yes, to maintain a professional environment:
Be punctual—good timekeeping is essential in the industry.
No food or drink in the studios (except water).
Silence your phone before class starts.
Show respect to fellow students and coaches.
Avoid alcohol before class.
Notify us as early as possible if you need to miss a session.
Keep the entrance security door closed.
Follow staff instructions in case of an emergency.

Drama School Audition Coaching FAQ

The number of sessions varies depending on your experience, monologue choice, and level of preparation. Most students find that at least six drama school coaching sessions significantly improve their chances of success in their drama school auditions.

Not directly—but we’ll certainly help! We have extensive experience selecting monologues that showcase your strengths in drama school auditions. Plus, our coaching clients get access to Drama Online, a library with over 3,000 play scripts to help them find the perfect monologue.

Our audition coaching students have secured places at some of the top acting schools in Glasgow, the UK, and internationally, including RADA, LAMDA, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, East 15, Rose Bruford, ArtsEd, Mountview, and New York’s Atlantic Acting School.

Both! We offer in-person coaching at our Glasgow acting studios, but if you're further afield, we have extensive experience delivering online coaching via Zoom.

Drama school entry is more competitive than getting into Oxford or Cambridge—less than 1.2% of applicants are successful. With over 110,000 applicants annually and only around 550 places available, our drama school audition coaching is designed to give you the best possible advantage.

Yes, there is visitor parking to the left of the building and free street parking in the surrounding area.

Yes, our ground-floor studios are fully accessible, with a ramp leading to the entrance. However, some upstairs spaces are not wheelchair-accessible. If you have any access requests, please email us at hello@actingcoachscotland.co.uk.

We are conveniently located less than 5 minutes from the Glasgow Subway Govan stop and the Govan Bus Station, making it easy to attend our Glasgow acting classes.
