Directing Highlights

As a director, Emma has brought a diverse range of stories to life. Notable productions include Sex, Drugs, and a Cup of Tea, which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018, and For Better, For Worse by Jill Franklin, which earned critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 and was shortlisted for an Offie Award. Emma’s upcoming main-stage debut, Jennie Lee: Tomorrow is a New Day, is set to premiere at Carnegie Hall and Lochgelly Theatre in November 2024, showcasing her continued commitment to delivering bold and compelling theatre.

Writing and New Work

Emma is also a talented writer with a focus on creating impactful, socially conscious work. Her verbatim and gig-theatre piece, TXT ME: Cyber Showcase and Online Protest, won Best Production at the Scottish Emerging Theatre Awards, reflecting her ability to blend storytelling with activism. Emma is currently developing new works, including an autobiographical solo cabaret show, Walking on Eggshells, and a BSL-integrated verbatim piece in partnership with Sanctuary Queer Arts.
