Duration 1 year (4 days a week)
Scheduled teaching per week 20 hours (average) plus 10 hours study, practise, additional rehearsal.
Location Acting Coach Scotland, 6 Harmony Row, Glasgow.
Our 1 Year Intensive Drama School Preparation / Acting Foundation course includes the HNC in Acting and was created to offer a professional foundation on which to base applications to full-time vocational acting courses at drama school.

Our Drama School Preparation Foundation Acting Course is aimed at preparing you for further professional training. Our intensive one-year foundation acting course (HNC Acting) was created specifically to prepare you to move onwards to professional training courses at a higher level.
This course is aimed at students who have already left school (or you are about to leave) and wish to go to drama school but as yet, lack experience, skills, knowledge or are too young to apply at the present time.
Our course aims to empower you to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to make you into the type of candidate that drama schools accept. Over the years, we've trained hundreds of drama school applicants privately. Now we're turning all of that knowledge and experience into a Foundation Acting course.

We are a private professional acting studio. All tuition fees are kept to an absolute minimum but do reflect the professional level expertise of the teaching staff, quality of facilities, small class sizes and number of contact teaching hours offered.
The current fees for this course are £5000 tuition fees and £250 registration and administration fee. We do not charge for auditions.
If you are entitled to SAAS funding, you can fund these studies with a contribution from SAAS and a payment made from your Student Loan. If there is a shortfall, you may have to make up the difference yourself.
You may still be entitled to a bursary from the Scottish Government.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE ASKED TO PAY A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT UPON ACCEPTANCE OF THEIR PLACE. AT PRESENT THIS IS £500.
Are there any other course costs?
You may need to purchase theatre and film tickets, plays etc.
Is there any funding available?
SAAS funding may be available to Scottish and European students and you should contact your Local Education Authority for advice on other sources of funding for full-time training for which you may be eligible.
Several charitable trusts exist that help finance performing arts students and a directory listing these grant-making trusts and charities should be available at your local library.
Application and Audition
Entry to the Drama School Preparation Foundation Acting Course (HNC Acting) is by audition only. This will enable our staf to make a realistic assessment of your suitability for this particular course. You will be asked to present two monologues to the panel.There will be a short interview and you may be asked to take part in a workshop. Higher English or Higher Drama would be recommended but are not essential. Previous performance experience is preferred but also not essential.
Accommodation and living costs: Acting Coach Scotland does not have any on-campus accommodation, but will assist all students upon successful entry to a course by placing them in contact with local providers of student accommodation and private landlords
