Succeed or Learn

There are 2 outcomes to every situation you encounter as an actor, you can succeed, prevail or win or you can learn from it.

The audition you didn’t get because your lines weren’t secure is an opportunity to develop greater discipline in preparation for your audition. Auditions are job interviews, learn from them to progress.

The show you do with the shitty reviews that closes after a week, learn from it, learn what you could do better, consider the mistakes , learn from your failures and your successes.

The pilot you did that didn’t get made, celebrate getting into the pilot, work out what you learn from it. Take that with you.

The film you made that you never quite understood what the director wanted, or the character was about, learn from it.

There is no situation from which you cannot learn. Some lessons are easy , some are brutal, but you will learn.

The only way to lose is to fail to learn from the situation and prosper from the experience.

Apply this to our industry and you will move forward, apply this to life and you will see the opportunity to learn from even the worst situation.
