Acting Classes - From Beginners to Oscar Winners
All actors want the opportunity to sink their teeth into a meaty role or scene. After all, that’s why we’re actors.
Students in Step 5 work on scenes every week with an experienced coach guiding them.
Successful completion of Step 4 is a pre-requisite of joining Step 5.
The Scene Study class is the best opportunity for you to flex your acting muscles and refine your craft or to stay in shape whilst you’re not working. Step 5 is the acting class where students take all of their technique and harness it for performance. It is a weekly workout where actors test their performance abilities in a safe and playful environment.
Through working on scenes from different media, the actors discover their strengths and weaknesses with the help of a trained and experienced coach/director’s assistance. Because class size is restricted, the class members will WORK their tails off.
Problems within a scene often stem from a problem in basic technique. The only reason that we study acting is to do scenes better, in other words to become a better actor. It’s all great practice for the real thing. Seeking the authentic, the organic, the truthful from moment to moment in rehearsal or performance is the goal of this challenging new class.
This is the perfect opportunity to improve their craft while gaining performance experience. We are always looking to bring the actor to an instinctive, impulsive place. We want the performance to be truthful and organic and the choices to be risky and exciting.
Each STEP 5 course lasts for 8 weeks with 2 hours of class per week. Students are expected to spend 2-3 terms in Step 5 before moving on to STEP 6. You can register and pay for a class in THREE ways. You can pay in cash or by card at the Studio in advance, you can call the studio and make a payment by telephone, or you can purchase your place on the course below via Paypal (you do not need a Paypal account).

"Despite going through an acting course and working professionally for five years, I often felt unprepared to approach a new role. There are so many conflicting approaches to acting that it can be hard to find something that works for you. The Mindset Technique is a clear and logical method, and I have really felt its effects in class, making scenes much more immediate and real. I’m really enjoying my training with Mark at ACS, especially the career opportunities and masterclasses, and feel that it will benefit me enormously in my working life."Torya Winters
