Acting Classes - STEP 8 - Your Acting Career Continues Here
In Step 8, you will tackle the trickiest part of acting, the monologue. Necessary for most auditions and for the most demanding moments on stage and screen, and it’s time to learn to deliver them to your best.
Successful completion of Step 7 is a pre-requisite of joining Step 8.
Any actors that have completed Step 7 and been invited into Step 8 join the second row of more advanced classes at Acting Coach Scotland. The second row of classes begins with Step 8 Monologue Performance. Each term will include one 1-2-1 session with Studio Director Mark Westbrook.
All students perform 1 or 2 monologues to an informal audience at the end of each term.
Learn to deal with the pressure of performance while discovering powerful monologue techniques, used regularly by Broadway actors to captivate audiences.
To complete this Step, you must perform 6 monologues at one of the informal gatherings.
Each STEP 8 course lasts for 8 weeks with 2 hours of class per week. Students are expected to spend roughly 3 terms in Step 8 before moving on to STEP 9. You can register and pay for a class in THREE ways. step 8 Monologue Performance
“Mark is a great teacher and the technique is a welcome change to the methods usually taught and practiced in this country. It is good to learn something from the very first stages and progress slowly through the different exercises, putting all the building blocks in place instead of just skimming over things. Mark Westbrook is a valuable resource that I hope to continue learning from for a long time to come.”Brian Ferguson (Black Watch)
