Born in Scotland, Ian is a member of Spartan Ensemble and heads his own production company Crosswords Productions. Experience includes acting, directing, writing, live broadcasting & stand up comedy.
Ian was trained by internationally acclaimed actor/director Tomek Borkowy and in Glasgow at Acting Coach Scotland where he also coaches beside Mark Westbrook.
Ian appeared in David Harrower’s “Blackbird” as Ray for Mephisto in October 2013 at the Galway Theatre Festival after finishing a terrific run at 2013 Edinburgh Fringe appearing in 2 plays both receiving 5 star reviews. Ian played Ben the senior hit-man in a site specific version of Pinter’s classic “The Dumb Waiter”.!
His high octane performance as a fictional 1920’s silent movie director in Michael Almaz’s mono-drama “CUT!” was described as “savage, funny and engaging” with “hypnotic physicality”and “magnificent and gorgeously terrifying.”!
He has appeared on TV & radio and toured his own show “John Laurie: Frazer & I” drawing admiration and support from Dad’s Army creator Jimmy Perry.
Credits include “Legend of the BBC”, “A Very Scottish Autopsy”, “The Emotional Life of Furniture” and “There’s Gold in Them There Hills!” with Citadel Arts.
He started out on the comedy circuit in 2001 and has supported many of today’s best known comedians.
Blackbird won a touring award tour the play with Mephisto in June 2014.
He recently appeared as Mr Olin in the feature film CON MEN, directed by R Paul Wilson.
